When I met Nicole and Jake, we sat down for coffee and they vividly retold their love story… I knew I could not wait to take their 10 year anniversary photo session in Lafayette Indiana!

Nicole and Jake met in a very small Iowa town in high school. We sipped our coffees while Nicole told me how shy Jake was and that she is in fact the one that pursued him! He grinned widely and did not argue! Apparently he was extremely shy and after a few unsuccessful attempts at getting him to call her, Nicole decided she had to resort to extreme measures….she joined his cross country team. She had asthma. Finally the shy boy had fallen in love and the two are best friends and celebrating their 10 year wedding anniversary!

Nicole and Jake didn’t have their ideal wedding planning situation…with her being in the navy Jake did most of the wedding planning so when Nicole came home from training they could get married. Her family helped out and even picked out her wedding dress for her! 10 years later Nicole and Jake reached out to me because they wanted to be able to celebrate their love story and plan it the way they want it. They deserved to experience a photo session that truly captured their best friendship and adoration for one another. I was more than thrilled to take their 10 year anniversary photo session in Lafayette Indiana!

Started our formal anniversary session at the Haan Museum

Nicole knew she wanted a formal vibe and she was going to get a gorgeous dress. We had talked a few times about her color palettes and I was so completely in love with her emerald and golds scheme…that just happens to be my brand colors! How awesome is that! We chose the Haan Museum in Lafayette Indiana for its stunning architecture set amongst the spring greens…such a gorgeous location. Winding down our anniversary session with sun setting at Wea Creek

Nicole and Jake let me know the secret to their marriage is that they are best friends, do everything together, and just love being together. They goof off and keep the fun alive. They be sure to spend as much time together as possible and their favorite date night is spending time at a “secret” location nestled in the woods along the Wea Creek. You can find them wading through the water, holding hands, packing a picnic and just being at peace in nature with each other….sounds like an awesome time for me! I was so grateful that they let me in on this gorgeous little spot. I am a Hoosier afterall…and us Hoosiers know how to have some fun in a crick ha ha!
