Photo Sessions: Weather it’s too hot or not
Like what I did there…haha! The day we scheduled the Hodges Raccoon Lake extended family photos turned out to be a scorcher. I had been watching the weather like a hawk (that’s how summer rolls right…never know when it will be storming out). As we got closer to the big day, the forecast was actually showing a heat advisory. Luckily the Hodges were staying at Raccoon Lake for several days and we were able to shoot the following day with a gorgeous 75 degrees and breezy! When shooting during the summer, flexibility is important for sure!
Lasting relationships
I met the Hodge family through Beth and Matt…you may remember them from their amazing maternity, newborn, and milestone shoots with their sweet Evangeline. Check out Evangeline’s newborn session here https://molliewenzelphotography.com/welcome-evangeline-newborn-lifestyle-photo-session-in-crawfordsville-in/ I was overjoyed to meet their smiling family and to get my hands on that baby again! What a blessing that I get to make lasting relationships with my clients and see them through all their big moments! I was thrilled to shoot their Raccoon Lake extended family photos!
Family Laughs
My favorite part of photographing families…ESPECIALLY extended families, is that I really get to learn some juicy tidbits and you’ll find me laughing my ass off right along with them all. The Hodges gave me plenty of smiles and laughs as I learned about how Matt, Nathan and Natalie tormented each other growing up…they even relived some of those stories…”remember how I trained the cat to pee in your shoes”….ha! I also got to see how Ed can still make Melinda giggle and squeal when he tickles her knees, still causing quite the the commotion all these years later, and still madly in love. Raccoon Lake actually holds years of memories for this sweet family….a place that the Hodges, along with their parents, siblings, cousins have grown over the years, a place where they continue to bring their own children and keep those memories flowing.
Check out Raccoon Lake here, swimming, boating, camping…it’s got it going on!
